iDOLA is not a me-too tablet PC. It is designed to be user friendly even for people who have not been closely acquainted with a normal desktop computer before. While learning how to use a desktop computer may take some time, iDOLA is created to be easy and natural to use from the start. Users can even access information from the Internet without having to open an Internet browser. An affordable, portable and robust device like iDola will also speed up national broadband adoption rate.
The iDOLA comes equipped with the second version of MIMOS’ Jemapoh software which was built on top of MIMOS’ Intelligent Service Delivery Platform (iSDP). The software, which is user-friendly and easy-to-use, can also be deployed in desktops, notebooks and mobile phones. The technology has been patented by MIMOS.
The iDOLA comes equipped with iBazaar as a services centre, iCreator, a software development application and iClip4Me used as a content aggregator. With hybrid application technology called mashup, it is able to bring information directly to users with one click, via icons that categorise the content. For easy access, the contents are divided into several categories, such as family, community, government, business, and mobile games.
iDOLA has full-fledged PC features, 1GB RAM (upgradable to 2GB), 802.11 b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as IPv6 enhanced multicasting technology. The portable computer runs on an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, a 250GB hard disk, 10.1in display, and several ports, including Bluetooth, WiFi and USB 2.0.
iDOLA is powered by MIMOS’ Technology Innovations Mi-Tablet and Mi-Page.
