Every time data is collected, it is often assumed the data is reliable and acceptable to be used for further analysis or plotting performance chart. However, this assumption is only true if a proper analysis on the affected measurement system is carried out and the assessment result is found to be acceptable. This analysis, often referred to as Measurement System Analysis (MSA), is used to assess the statistical properties of a Measurement System.
MSA is a proven statistical tool to assess if Measurement System is capable in terms of precision, accuracy and consistency (across time). The key components of Measurement System are measurement equipment, procedures and personnel who handle it. Establishing adequacy of Measurement System is fundamental to measure business process capability/performance and meeting the requirements (specification) by customer.
This course is designed to develop competencies which are required to identify and conduct relevant MSA. This easy-to follow course concentrates on steps which include setting up data collection plan, statistical analysis and results interpretation. The goal of this course is to train designated personnel to become leader in assessing Measurement System for improvement.
