Cloud Computing is essentially ‘computing on tap’. A person or a company will pay per use of shared computing resources such as software, processing power and storage space as a metered service over the network, instead of having to physically acquire the needed resources.
Users are able to access applications on a cloud service through a web browser on a desktop or mobile device, while the data will be stored on servers at a remote location. In utilising this technology, usually big organisations have multiple cloud systems, so it is difficult to manage.
With Cloud Connect technology empowered by MIMOS’ GC4 platform, companies can use one aggregated portal to manage multiple cloud system instead of having separate portal for each cloud. It’s the first-of-its-kind offering in Malaysia.
The second application and technology offered by cloud connect is the integration of billing back-end of multiple cloud systems i.e. the platform allows to interface with the different billing systems, so that the client can operate one integrated billing system for the overall cloud computing services.
The third application introduced by Cloud Connect is cloud service on board which allows an application to be offered through a cloud service. If there’s an application, for example a HR system, that you want to offer through a cloud service, you will have to reprogramme the entire software to suit the cloud system. However, with GC4 platform, these applications can be used for cloud services with zero to minor changes. Otherwise each application has to be reprogrammed.
