MIMOS offers industry-standard public training programmes that cover E&E, 4IR and industrial design-related skills for future workforce. The programmes are as follow:

  • Certified IoT Specialist Training (in collaboration with iTrain Asia)

    Demonstrate and understand the concept and functions of Internet of Things (IoT) in improving the well-being of people and global economy. This includes the understanding of protocols used by IoT devices and challenges associated with it; exposure to the real-life examples related to IoT devices and a future of IoT.

    Internet of Things (IoT)- Start Up

    Introduction to the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem and technologies related to it. Participants to be equipped with hands-on experience in the development process of the IoT application with data visualisation.

    Video Analytics for Smart Surveillance Technology

    Introduction to the fundamentals of image and video analysis; key concepts of video surveillance system and video analytic; algorithms to problems in image and video processing; and the methodology required for the implementation. The course also exposes participants to real business applications through case studies.

    Practical Approaches for Effective Software Quality Management Implementation

    Provide knowledge in establishing an effective Quality Assurance framework that fulfils fundamentals of Software Quality concepts, process models, and standards while balancing the practical needs of an organisation. This will assist in defining and tailoring software engineering life cycles and processes aligning with project engagement model.

    Introduction to Cryptography Training

    Introduction to the cryptographic primitives and their design rationale as well as its applications to secure ICT systems.

    Mobile Security Training

    Practical overviews of architecture and design principles, along with best practices as applicable in hi-security mobile systems.

    Fintech Security Training

    Identify and specify cryptographic mechanisms and their respective services as well as understand the roles and assurances of cryptographic mechanisms when applying to Fintech applications.

    Task Automation with Python Scripting

    Introduction to the concept of task automation which can be used for daily or software development tasks, and uses python scripting as automation scripting language. Participants will also learn DevOps, an overall concept of automation in software development, deployment, and maintenance.

    Hands-on Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

    Introduction to the proper software development lifecycle. It covers two major SDLC methodologies which are waterfall and agile. Participants will learn from actual software project experience.

    Application Development in MS .Net environment

    Introduction to the whole chain of processes and tools to develop various types of applications running in the Microsoft technology environment.

  • Semiconductor Wafer Fabrication Process Training

    Provide information and hands-on experience on the intricate semiconductor manufacturing process. Participants to demonstrate and understand the evolution of each processing technique, CMOS device processes, Failure Analysis principles and procedures; package level testing as well as equipment and hardware maintenance.

    Vacuum Technology and Common Applications in Semiconductor Industry

    Understand on the vacuum principles to ensure the safety and proper handling of vacuum parts and components in a working environment. Demonstrate the vacuum system components, vacuum pumps and its applications, gauges and vacuum seals, Mass Flow Controller (MFC), and principles of leak detection.

    Semiconductor Wafer Level Testing Training

    The fundamentals of wafer-level testing including definition, why, and when to perform the testing and their parameters. It covers WLR testing methodologies for semiconductor devices and electronics.

    – Failure Analysis

    Understand on the failure mechanisms for every component of materials used in semiconductor packaging. Demonstrate the package level testing, electrical testing, fault isolation, package opening, optical, and FESEM inspection.

  • Problem Solving – Basic Quality Tools Used in Manufacturing

    Introduction to the basic quality tools used in manufacturing, and the importance of managing process variations and the flow of problem-solving.

    Six Sigma White Belt

    An introduction to the key basics and problem-solving methodology of Six Sigma which serves as fundamental to explain what and how Six Sigma is applied. It will summarise how Six Sigma DMAIC work in problem-solving.

    Six Sigma Yellow Belt

    An introduction to the key basics and problem-solving methodology of Six Sigma which serves as fundamental to explain what and how Six Sigma is applied. One of the skills to be developed is the ability to identify critical factors for project success.

    Six Sigma Green Belt

    Develop Green Belt competencies that are required to address problems originated from business operations. It focuses on the application of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and related Quality / Statistical tools to ensure defined problems are resolved and improvement project goal is sustainable.

    Six Sigma Black Belt

    Develop Black Belt competencies that are required to address critical problems originated from business operations. It focuses on the application of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology and related Quality / Statistical tools to ensure defined problems are resolved and improvement project goal is sustainable.

    Process Capability Analysis

    Develop competencies that are required to conduct a process capability study. This concentrates on steps which include statistical analysis and results interpretation for a continuous variable (Normal vs Non-Normal) and attribute data. The goal is to train participants to be proficient in assessing the capability of a process that is performing.

    Measurement System Analysis (MSA)

    Develop competencies that are required to identify and conduct relevant Measurement System Analysis (MSA). This concentrates on steps that include setting up a data collection plan, statistical analysis, and results interpretation. The goal is to mould participants to be proficient in assessing Measurement System for improvement.

    Design of Experiment (DoE)

    Develop competencies that are required to conduct and analyse relevant DoE results. This concentrates on steps which include a strategy for experiment matrix design, statistical analysis, results interpretation and conclusion. The goal is to produce highly skilful personnel in planning and conducting DoE analysis for process and design quality improvement.

    Workshop on HRTEM and EDX for Materials, Semiconductor, and Life Science

    Understand on the reliability testing methodologies for semiconductor devices and electronic products referring to International Test Standard. It also covers Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and application of Quality Tools used for troubleshooting.

  • Introduction to Integrated Circuit (IC) Design

    Introduction to the Digital ASIC front end and back end design as well as the custom Analog IC design with the EDA tools.

    Integrated Analog Digital Converter (ADC) / Digital Analog Converter (DAC) Design Fundamentals

    The fundamental principles of ADC including the most common Nyquist-rate and an introduction to oversampling (Delta-Sigma) converters. It also covers basic system and circuit architectures, performance metrics, data converter characterisation, performance limitations and trade-offs, spectral analysis, practical implementations, and design procedures.

    Digital Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Application

    Develop and debug ATE test programmes using the Diamond™ 10 test system as the testing platform. Create a test programme using C++ and STIL files, running and debugging a test using software tools.

  • Introduction to Software Testing and Test Management

    Introduction to the idea and concept of Software Testing that comprises of Functional Testing, Mobile Testing, Testing, Post – Data Migration Testing as well as Performance Testing.

    Web Application Automation Test
    (Certification Training)

    Understand the fundamental of Software Testing, Software Development Life Cycle and different types of models involved. The course sheds light on web application automation testing through Katalon Studio.

    Web Application Performance Automation Test
    (Certification Training)

    Introduction to the concept of web application performance testing, and coaches on the functionalities, features and functions of Apache JMeter. Participants will learn to simulate heavy load on a server to analyse overall performance of the application under different load types.

    Usability Automation Test – Mi-Testlab
    (Certification Training)

    Understand the fundamental of Usability Testing concepts and how it is performed within the Software Development Life Cycle. Gain automation skills through the use of Mi-TestLab / Mi-UXLab and other states of the art tools for facilitating survey, heuristic evaluation, and user experience testing.

    Mobile Application Test
    (Certification Training)

    Introduction to the concept of mobile application testing, as well as functionalities and features of Appium and Katalon Studio. Participants will learn to distinguish the different needs and scenarios of mobile application testing and how to create automation scripts.

  • Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality Content Development

    Content creation of Augmented Reality & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) using platform unity. Participants will learn how to build a walkthrough in VR and target marker with AR.

    3D Printer Assembly (D.I.Y)

    Participants will learn some rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies; the fundamental of additive manufacturing and 3D printing; and how to assemble a 3D printer.

    Design Thinking: From Concept to Reality

    The design thinking process is a powerful framework for understanding and solving complex problems. Learn how to push beyond your first good idea and discover a new level of creativity and momentum. Design thinking can be applied in a wide range of opportunities within an organisation.

    3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Modelling

    The course covers Autodesk Fusion 360 Introduction to Parametric Modelling course. It provides an understanding of the parametric design philosophy using the Autodesk Fusion 360 software.

  • Introduction to Adobe Illustrator Level 1 (Basic)

    Adobe Illustrator is an illustration and drawing programme designed for users who specifically want to learn how to create vector-based graphics for design, web design, or desktop publishing material.

    Image Manipulation Using Adobe Photoshop

    To share knowledge and skills in using Adobe Photoshop, an image manipulation software that has altered the benchmark of the advertising industry.

    Interaction Design

    To share knowledge and skills in using time-tested, human-centred design frameworks and tools, including ethnographic research, personas, scenarios, and design frameworks.

  • Patent Search

    To train participants to do a patentability search for an invention or patent disclosure, and conduct prior art analysis guided by sample patent examination reports issued by Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) or Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) examiners.

    Patent Drafting

    Process and techniques of writing a patent specification according to Malaysia Patent Act 1983 requirements.
