Job Purpose
- The Kindergarten Teacher at MIMOS Junior Academy (MJA) plays a key role in nurturing young learners through a STEM-based, bilingual early childhood programme that integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with language, values, and character education. This position supports the implementation of the Kurikulum Prasekolah 2026 (KP2026), which emphasizes bilingual communication, play- and inquiry-based learning, and holistic child development. The teacher fosters curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving through hands-on, project-based experiences, while ensuring the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of every child in a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Development
- Design and implement STEM-integrated, bilingual lesson plans aligned with KP2026 and MJA’s monthly thematic curriculum.
- Use play-based, inquiry-based, and project-based approaches to promote creativity and critical thinking.
- Integrate digital tools and simple technology-based activities to enhance learning experiences.
- Encourage children to explore, ask questions, and express their ideas confidently in both Bahasa Melayu and English.
2. Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom that encourages active participation and collaboration.
- Establish and reinforce classroom rules and routines that promote respect, responsibility, and independence.
- Ensure the learning space is organized, safe, and developmentally appropriate.
3. Teaching and Learning
- Implement engaging, age-appropriate learning activities that support children’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and moral growth.
- Collaborate with teaching peers to plan lessons, share resources, and review student progress.
- Supervise children during meal times, recess, and daily care routines to ensure safety and good hygiene habits.
4. Individualized Instruction:
- Recognize diverse learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Provide one-on-one and small group guidance to support both remedial and advanced learners.
- Encourage self-expression and confidence through personalized feedback.
5. Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Conduct continuous assessment using observation, performance tasks, and documentation.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and use data to guide instruction and parent communication.
- Prepare simple learning portfolios and progress reports reflecting cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
6. Parent and Community Engagement
- Build positive relationships with parents through regular communication, meetings, and updates.
- Encourage parental involvement in school events, STEM showcases, and community activities.
- Provide guidance to parents on home-based reinforcement and character development.
7. Compliance and Regulations
- Ensure adherence to MOE preschool regulations, safety guidelines, and MJA operational policies.
- Participate in training, professional development, and reflective practices to enhance teaching quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of MJA’s teaching and learning culture.
Qualification
- Posses Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3–4 years in early childhood or kindergarten teaching.
- Experience in STEM-based or bilingual programmes is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, parents, and community members.
- Knowledge of educational regulations and compliance requirements for preschools.
- Experience in curriculum development and classroom management is a plus.
