MIMOS Drives the Next Wave of Digital Transformation

MIMOS continued to lead the charge in Malaysia’s technological evolution, hosting a series of high-impact knowledge-sharing sessions designed to close the divide between advanced research and industrial application. A standout highlight was the strategic Technology Review Workshop conducted with FGV on 15 January 2026, which brought together 24 specialists from across the group’s automation, refinery, and estate management divisions. The session identified practical pathways for technology adoption by aligning MIMOS’ applied R&D capabilities with FGV’s extensive operational footprint, ensuring that one of the nation’s cornerstone industries remains future-ready and globally competitive through sustainable innovation.

Parallel to industrial engagement, MIMOS is championing the ‘human-in-the-loop’ approach to technology through specialised training in AI System Thinking. Led by Ir. Dr. Ahmad Nizar Harun, Head of MIMOS Academy, the session, held on 28 January 2026, moved beyond technical coding to explore how systemic frameworks can enhance organisational efficiency. The training integrated AI with a systems-thinking approach, empowering participants to streamline complex processes and drive more strategic, impactful outcomes. This initiative showed MSSB’s commitment to strengthening digital capabilities, ensuring that AI is not just implemented as a tool but integrated as a core driver of smarter decision-making.

The momentum extended into the realm of digital governance and national research infrastructure with two pivotal sessions focused on transparency and high-performance computing. Azhar bin Abu Talib, CEO of My Blockchain Infrastructure Sdn. Bhd. (MyBISB), spearheaded a comprehensive walkthrough of the Blockchain AEO & OGA System on 28 January 2026. This session demonstrated to various government agencies how blockchain can revolutionise inter-agency collaboration through enhanced data integrity and traceability. Simultaneously, MIMOS hosted the Public University HPC & AI Workshop on 29 January 2026, providing academic researchers with the computational insights needed to drive data-intensive research. These combined efforts reflect a holistic strategy to build a transparent, efficient, and future-ready digital ecosystem for both the public sector and the academic community.

Acting as a central nexus for knowledge exchange, MIMOS is effectively translating sophisticated technology into national progress. Whether it is refining the automation processes of a plantation giant, training leaders in AI logic, or providing the high-performance infrastructure required for university breakthroughs, the organisation remains dedicated to applied excellence. These engagements reinforce a shared national vision: a Malaysia where technology-driven solutions are accessible, secure, and seamlessly integrated across every sector of the economy.
