MIMOS bridged the gap between high-level technological breakthroughs and societal progress, establishing a strong presence at the ASEAN Quantum Summit 2025 on 11 December 2025. The MIMOS booth became a vibrant hub for regional delegates, showcasing the organisation’s role in steering Malaysia’s quantum journey. A standout highlight of the summit was the live Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) showcase, delivered in collaboration with elite partners including Telekom Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and ID Quantique. This display of cutting-edge secure communication drew significant attention, most notably from the Chief Minister of Johor, YAB Dato’ Onn Hafiz bin Ghazi, whose visit emphasised the strategic importance of quantum readiness for the nation’s digital future.
While charting the course for future technologies, MIMOS remains deeply committed to ensuring no Malaysian is left behind in the current digital era. At the Karnival Cakna Digital 2025 held at Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA in Lenggong, Perak, on 20 & 21 December 2025, the organisation played a fundamental role in a Ministry of Digital initiative designed to narrow the digital divide. Officiated by the Menteri Besar of Perak, YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, the carnival provided a premier gateway for direct community connection. MIMOS ensured local citizens gained the essential tools and knowledge to navigate an increasingly sophisticated digital world with confidence.
These contrasting, yet complementary, engagements illustrated the dual nature of MIMOS’ mission: to push the boundaries of what is possible through deep-tech research while simultaneously grounding those advancements in social responsibility. Whether through the high-stakes world of quantum cryptography or the essential work of community-based digital empowerment, the organisation remains a steadfast architect of a more secure, inclusive, and technologically advanced Malaysia. With the support of strategic partners like ID Quantique and the enthusiasm of the public, MIMOS is successfully building a future that is as equitable as it is innovative.
