Position Purpose & Summary:
You will be working on multiple projects throughout the year in a fast-paced environment. You will be using your software development skills on a day-to-day basis and also using your understanding of electrical engineering when needed. We will be developing various new and innovative projects as a team.
We are looking for a skilled RF and High-Speed Data Engineer with a strong background in MATLAB programming to contribute to the design, development, and optimization of RF systems for high-speed data applications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of RF principles, coupled with expertise in signal processing, communication systems, and simulation using MATLAB.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop firmware / software for new embedded products
- Design & Development of Digital Signal Processing algorithms in FPGAs
- Implementation on Xilinx devices (STA, design optimization for timing closure)
- Working on FPGA firmware and software architecture, to extend the team existing products functionalities to cover the needs of key markets and applications
- Write and review design/verification documents
- Design, implement and verify FPGA IP modules
- Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment
- Design, develop, code, test and debug system software
- Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
- Provide post production support
- Interface with hardware design and development
- Design and optimize RF circuits, components, and systems for high-speed data transmission.
- Develop MATLAB models for simulation and analysis of RF performance metrics, including signal integrity, noise figure, and power consumption.
- Implement and test RF communication protocols and algorithms, ensuring robustness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, and systems engineers) to integrate RF designs into complete systems.
- Conduct RF measurements, analyze data, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Participate in design reviews, documentation, and troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in RF technology and high-speed data communication.
- Simulations: MATLAB provides simulation tools (Simulink, RF Toolbox) for modeling RF systems and communication links.
- Algorithm Development: Implement algorithms for modulation/demodulation, signal processing, and error correction.
- Visualization: Plotting RF spectra, constellation diagrams, eye diagrams, etc., for analysis.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate system performance metrics such as BER, throughput, and latency.
Relevant Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in research analysis or strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Electrical Engineering and Courses in RF circuits, electromagnetics, communication systems, and signal processing are valuable.
Professional Qualification
- RF Fundamentals: Strong understanding of RF principles including transmission lines, antennas, RF circuit design, and RF measurements.
- MATLAB Proficiency: Solid skills in MATLAB programming and simulation tools such as Simulink, RF Toolbox, Communications Toolbox, and Signal Processing Toolbox. Ability to write MATLAB scripts for data analysis, algorithm development, and system simulation
Technical/ Functional Skills
- Experience with 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers
- Experience with software compilers and debugging tools, developing software using embedded frameworks and SDKs
- Design and optimize RF circuits, components, and systems for high-speed data transmission.
- Develop MATLAB models for simulation and analysis of RF performance metrics, including signal integrity, noise figure, and power consumption.
- Implement and test RF communication protocols and algorithms, ensuring robustness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, software, and systems engineers) to integrate RF designs into complete systems.
- Conduct RF measurements, analyze data, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Participate in design reviews, documentation, and troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical issues.
- Experience with software compilers and debugging tools, developing software using embedded frameworks and SDKs
- 3+ years of experience with Wireless Communications Systems and Standards,
- In-depth knowledge in communication protocols and industry standard interface such as PCI, PCIe, DDR2/DDR3, I2S, SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet
- Familiar with Xilinx Development Tools (ISE Design Suite, Vivado Design Suite, and System Generator for DSP) desired
