High-Profile Visits Highlight MIMOS’ Strategic Impact

The final stretch of September saw MIMOS playing host to several highly distinguished figures, reinforcing our position at the intersection of technology, national policy, and international diplomacy. On 24 September 2025, MIMOS was pleased to welcome the Honourable Minister Shri Jitin Prasada, Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology and Commerce & Industry of India. This high-profile visit served as a platform for a fruitful exchange of perspectives on technology and innovation, aiming to strengthen bilateral R&D ties and explore future collaboration between Malaysia and India, a clear commitment to mutual growth on the international stage.

The focus on national impact was equally strong. The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) reinforced its strategic partnership with MIMOS on 17 September 2025, when YBhg. Datuk Seri Hj. Hasnol Zam Zam bin Hj. Ahmad, the Secretary General of MOSTI, conducted a working visit to MIMOS Berhad at the Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP), Kedah. The KSU and his delegation received briefings on two significant national projects: the Industry Technology Innovation Centre (ITIC) and the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI). The visit concluded with a comprehensive tour of the ITIC facility, a key platform dedicated to providing R&D expertise and facilities aimed at enhancing the local Electric and Electronic (E&E) industry’s capabilities in product design and human capital development.

MIMOS then welcomed YB Hjh Rodziah Ismail, Member of Parliament for Ampang, on 23 September 2025. Her visit included a special tour showcasing MIMOS’ vital role in advancing R&D and innovation. YB Rodziah also joined the MIMOS Podcast Ngeteh Station, where she delivered a powerful message emphasising the youth’s essential role in driving Malaysia’s digital future, calling technology the ‘solution’ for change. This sentiment aligns perfectly with MIMOS’ mission to nurture digital talent and empower the next generation.

The month of high-profile engagements concluded on 29 September 2025, as MIMOS hosted Mr Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri, Political Secretary to the Minister of Home Affairs, YB Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, exploring potential technological collaborations, including the use of drones for agricultural data collection. These high-level visits, from the MOSTI KSU and the Indian Minister to local Parliamentarians, collectively underscore MIMOS’ dedication to translating technology and R&D expertise into long-term impact for the Rakyat and the successful execution of both national and international strategic agendas.
