MIMOS Expands Global and Local Impact Through High-Level Delegations

MIMOS cemented its position as a premier hub for technological co-creation by hosting an impressive series of international delegations during the second quarter of 2026. On the global stage, the organisation welcomed the Bangladesh Minister of Labour and Employment alongside Mahdi Amin (Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh) on 9 April 2026; a high-level Asian Development Bank, Philippines delegation on 19 May 2026; Silicon Catalyst UK on 2 April 2026; and Sweden’s Ambassador, H.E. Niklas Wiberg, on 6 May 2026. Deepening international integration, MIMOS hosted Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade on 6 May 2026 to discuss microelectronics and an Indian delegation from Odisha on 11 April 2026 to explore the Clean Room facility. Follow-up sessions with a Brazilian delegation on 6 May, Spain’s ASTUREX on 12 May 2026, and Hong Kong’s Business Environment Council (BEC) on 5 June 2026 further advanced discussions on cross-border innovation, renewable energy, and the intersection of technology and sustainability.

Simultaneously, MIMOS catalysed local socio-economic growth by strengthening ties with government, industry, and academic stakeholders. Strategic briefings took place with the Ministry of Economy and MOSTI on 31 March 2026, alongside dedicated sessions throughout March and April with MRANTI, MTDC, SIRIM, Telekom Malaysia, Fadsan Technologies, Rayson Global Group, and the Royal Malaysian Navy, to name a few. The organisation also aligned with community growth drivers, hosting MITRA on 16 April 2026 and the ADUN of Kajang, YB Tuan David Cheong, on 21 April 2026. Strategic industry dialogues with FGV Holdings Berhad, Rayatech Sdn Bhd, and the Al-Hidayah Group further underscored MIMOS’ dedication in driving digital transformation across diverse sectors.

In tandem with these visits, MIMOS actively nurtured the next generation of tech pioneers through dynamic educational outreach. The organisation hosted the SEMICON Southeast Asia delegation on 5 May 2026, bringing together 80 regional students and academics from six countries, followed closely by the Vietnam National Innovation Centre on 6 May 2026. Local and international universities also gained invaluable industry exposure through targeted laboratory and wafer fabrication tours. Future talent from Mapúa University, Philippines, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Asia Pacific University (APU), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysia Institute (UniKL BMI), and various faculties of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) engaged directly with cutting-edge applied research, solidifying the role of MIMOS as a bridge between academic excellence and industrial adoption.
