MIMOS Technology Preview 2026 Advances Malaysia’s Technology Frontier Through Collaboration, Commercialisation and Global Opportunities
BUKIT JALIL, 29 September 2026 – MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia’s national applied research and development centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), today hosted MIMOS Technology Preview (MTP) 2026, bringing together investors, venture capital firms, financial institutions, corporate leaders, government-linked companies (GLCs), industry collaborators and strategic partners to explore opportunities to invest in, adopt and scale Malaysian technology and innovation.

Held at the MIMOS campus in Technology Park Malaysia, this year’s edition carries the theme ‘Technology Beyond Boundaries: Advancing Malaysia’s Technology Frontier’, reflecting MIMOS’ ambition to move Malaysian innovation beyond the laboratory, into industry and towards global markets.
More than a technology showcase, MTP 2026 serves as a platform to connect MIMOS’ technology capabilities with the capital, industry expertise, partnerships and market opportunities needed to accelerate technology adoption, commercialisation and scale.
Unlike previous editions, MTP 2026 offers guests an immersive experience within the MIMOS ecosystem, providing first-hand exposure to the environment where technologies are conceived, developed, validated and progressed towards commercialisation.
The event was officiated by YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), who highlighted the importance of Malaysia having the ambition and capability not only to follow the global technology frontier, but to help shape it.
“Malaysia must not simply follow the technology frontier. We must have the ambition and capability to help shape it. This means strengthening our talent, capabilities, partnerships and businesses so that Malaysian technologies can be developed, adopted and scaled, first here in Malaysia, and ultimately in global markets.
MIMOS plays an important role in this journey. As our national applied R&D centre, it contributes to building the technological capabilities that are critical to Malaysia’s future, while helping bridge the journey from research and innovation to industry and real-world impact. Platforms such as MTP 2026 are important because they bring together Government, industry, investors, researchers and strategic partners to create the connections needed to accelerate technology adoption and commercialisation.
Technology beyond boundaries requires collaboration beyond boundaries. By working together across sectors, disciplines and markets, we can advance Malaysia’s technology frontier and ensure that our innovation creates meaningful economic and societal impact,” said YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal, Deputy Minister of MOSTI.
As Malaysia’s national applied R&D centre, MIMOS has been instrumental in advancing strategic technologies, developing intellectual property and supporting the commercialisation of homegrown innovations. Through its deep technology capabilities, MIMOS continues to contribute towards national priorities in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, smart and autonomous systems for agriculture and manufacturing, advanced electronics and semiconductors, blockchain and quantum technologies.
MTP 2026 also featured presentations by MIMOS subsidiaries, associates and technology ventures, providing participants with insights into their business value propositions, growth potential, market opportunities and pathways for collaboration and investment. The showcase highlighted how research outcomes are being transformed into commercially viable products, solutions and enterprises that contribute to national economic development.
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to engage directly with technology developers, business leaders and innovation experts, as well as explore potential partnerships, investment opportunities, technology adoption and commercialisation across various sectors.
The event reinforces MIMOS’ role in connecting Malaysia’s innovation value chain; from research and technology development to industry adoption, investment, commercialisation and global market opportunities.
“MTP is more than a technology showcase. It is a platform that connects ideas with opportunities, innovation with investment. By bringing together stakeholders from across the innovation value chain, we aim to create meaningful partnerships that will accelerate technology adoption, unlock commercial opportunities and help Malaysian technologies move beyond boundaries and into new markets,” said Dr Saat Shukri Embong, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS Berhad.
“We want our partners, investors and industry to see not only what MIMOS has developed, but also what we can build and scale together,” added Dr Shukri.
MIMOS remains committed to supporting the national innovation agenda by strengthening domestic technology capabilities, driving commercialisation and fostering strategic collaborations that create value for industry, strengthen Malaysia’s technological resilience and advance the country’s position in deep technology, innovation and global competitiveness.
