MIMOS Reinforce Corporate Governance at Impactful Integrity Awareness Session

MIMOS staff attended a virtual integrity awareness session on 21 May 2026, led by Tuan Kamarul Zaman bin Mosman, Head of the Investigation and Forensics School at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Academy (MACA) and member of the Malaysia Polygraph Association (MYPA). The session, titled ‘Rasuah: Derhaka atau Daulat’, aimed to strengthen organisational transparency by enhancing understanding of anti-corruption legislation, reviewing real-world case studies, and helping employees identify corporate crime risks in the workplace.

The presentation utilised case examples and multimedia to illustrate the practical definitions of ethical behaviour and accountability. Tuan Kamarul Zaman discussed the broader impacts of corruption, highlighting subtle risks such as everyday regulatory non-compliance and the masking of illicit favours as gifts.

To anchor these points within Malaysia’s legal framework, the session referenced data from the 2023 National Risk Assessment, outlining how fraud and corruption intersect with financial crimes like money laundering and digital scams. The briefing concluded with a breakdown of bribery categories and essential legal components, including mens rea (guilty intent), to reinforce internal compliance and corporate governance.
