The MIMOS Junior Academy (MJA) organised a Merdeka 2025 celebration on 11 September 2025 at the Dr Tengku Azzman Shariffadeen Auditorium, MIMOS Berhad, bringing together about 50 people, which included 29 pre-schoolers, their parents, and MIMOS staff in a lively tribute to Malaysia’s independence.
The programme officially opened with a speech by Dr Saat Shukri Embong, President and Group Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS Berhad, who reminded the audience of the importance of nurturing patriotic values from a young age. The event continued with a series of engaging performances that reflected the true spirit of Merdeka. Highlights included a poem recitation, the energetic Kita Punya Malaysia song, and the touching Saya Anak Malaysia sign language presentation, which emphasised inclusivity and unity. Creativity also shone during the replica design competition, while the fashion show featuring Busana Pahlawan Melayu brought colour, heritage, and excitement to the event.
The day concluded with an award ceremony, closing performance, and the spirited Independence Shout, as students proudly echoed “Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!”. More than just a celebration, the event instilled values of patriotism, resilience, and national pride in the younger generation. Through initiatives like this, MJA continues to nurture future leaders who carry both innovation and love for the nation in their hearts.
