MIMOS Accelerative Technology Lab (ATL) investigates the use of Accelerators such as Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) for industrial and scientific applications. Our interest is in developing the state-of-the-art of parallel computational algorithms and implemented them as libraries, interfaces, or accelerative components that make acceleration easier to achieve as well as cost effective.

MIMOS GPU R&D and Compute Solution Center, managed by ATL, was established in 2012. It is jointly governed by NVIDIA, HP and MIMOS. Collaboration R&D activities include promoting the dynamic growth of GPU Computing in Malaysia, CUDA teaching and training at universities, CUDA programming contest event, technology road shows and other GPU related activities. In 2016, MIMOS GPU R&D and Compute Solution Center was named a “GPU Research Center” by Nvidia. GPU Research Centers are institutions that embrace and use graphics processing unit (GPU)-accelerated computing across multiple research fields, and are at the forefront of some of the world’s most innovative scientific research.
