MIMOS Information Security Cluster’s vision is to protect Malaysia’s cyberspace and safeguard the country’s critical information by providing a self-sufficient, highly secure computing environment and information infrastructure.  Our R&D activities are aimed at developing Malaysia’s homegrown technology in cyber security to bolster self-reliance in order to maintain its e-sovereignty.

We have made quite substantial efforts in privacy-enhancing technology – in its different notions of privacy such as trusted computing, which forms the main component of the trusted infrastructure.  Major research activities are focused on Trusted Computing Group (TCG) specifications, with ongoing research on Trusted Platform Module (TPM) as well as Virtual TPM and Software TPM modules.  We will also focus on trusted infrastructure and trusted platform for pervasive computing with emphasis on using mathematical proofing and formal methods, using Proof-Carrying Codes Agents and using trusted computing principles.
