Job Purpose

  • This Researcher position is critical to advancing the organisation’s capabilities in printed and flexible electronics, with a focus on device fabrication involving sensor integration and additive manufacturing techniques. The role supports national priorities in digital transformation, IoT, and advanced manufacturing by driving innovation in areas such as printed sensors, electronic circuits, RFID, and flexible substrates.
  • The role will support the development, fabrication, and validation of printed electronic devices from lab-scale prototypes to scalable production, contributing to ongoing projects under national programs. This includes integration of novel materials (e.g., graphene, silver nanoparticle inks), device optimisation, and process development using inkjet, dispenser, and photonic curing technologies.
  • The position also requires adherence to lab safety regulations, as well as active contributions to MIMOS’s KPIs through IP filings, publications, product deployment at stakeholder’s site, commercialization activities.

Qualification

  • Possess Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the following disciplines:
  1. Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Nanotechnology, or Semiconductor Engineering)
  2. Science (Applied Physics, Science)
  3. Specialised degrees related to Device development, Electronic systems, Printed Electronics and systems, Microfabrication, or Flexible Electronics

Professional Qualification

  • IEEE, Professional Engineer (Desired)
  • Professional Technologists (Desired)

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of research experience inclusive study period.

Skills

  • Printed flexible electronics technology and fabrication
  • Inkjet printing systems, dispenser coating, and surface treatment processes
  • Sensor integration, interconnect design, and circuit printing
  • Soldering and Photonic curing, UV/NIR processes, and substrate compatibility
  • Strong understanding of materials–process–device relationships
  • Electrical testing, adhesion analysis, and reliability evaluation
  • Electrical characterisation techniques
  • Lab operations and process equipment handling
  • Technology licensing

Soft Skills

  • Project coordination and execution
