Senior Executive, Content Strategist

Job Purpose

To be the strategic architect of our social media presence, driving engaging content initiatives that resonate with our target audiences and significantly enhance our brand’s voice and reach across all social platforms. This role is crucial for developing and executing a data-driven social media content strategy, from identifying key trends and planning impactful campaigns to meticulously analyzing performance and optimizing for maximum engagement and brand loyalty. The Social Media Content Strategist cum Analyst will ensure our social channels are vibrant, relevant, and effectively contribute to our corporate communication goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Social Media Content Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media content strategy aligned with corporate communication objectives, brand guidelines, and overall social media goals.
  • Conduct in-depth social listening and audience research to understand audience demographics, interests, and content consumption habits specifically on social platforms.
  • Monitor competitor social media activities and industry trends to identify content opportunities and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Create and manage detailed social media content calendars, outlining themes, formats, and publishing schedules across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube).
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholder, internal creative teams (e.g., videographers, content creator) and subject matter experts to brainstorm, plan, and produce high-quality, platform-specific social content.
  • Identify and propose innovative social media content formats (e.g., Reels, Stories, Live sessions, polls) and emerging platform features to boost engagement.

2. Social Media Content Oversight & Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the development of engaging social media copy, compelling visual concepts, and short-form video ideas, ensuring all content is optimized for each platform’s unique requirements.
  • Ensure all social media content consistently adheres to brand voice, tone, messaging, and visual identity.
  • Guide the repurposing of existing content into effective social media snippets and campaigns.

3. Social Media Performance Analysis & Optimization:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) specifically for social media content (e.g., reach, impressions, engagement rate, click-through rate, follower growth).
  • Utilize native social media analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, X Analytics, LinkedIn Page Analytics, TikTok Analytics) and other social media management platforms to track, measure, and report on content performance.
  • Analyze data to identify content trends, audience engagement patterns, and areas for improvement on social channels.
  • Prepare regular, insightful performance reports with actionable recommendations for content optimization and strategic adjustments.
  • Conduct A/B testing on social media ad creatives, copy, and posting times to enhance campaign effectiveness.
  • Stay abreast of social media algorithm changes and adjust content strategies accordingly.

4. Social Search Optimization (SSO):

  • Conduct keyword research and implement optimal strategies to improve content discoverability on social platforms.
  • Advise on integrating relevant keywords into social media profiles and content to enhance social search visibility.

Qualifications

  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Data analytic, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.

Relevant Work Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrable experience specifically in a social media content strategy or social media analyst role, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful social media campaigns and content initiatives.
  • Proven track record of leveraging data to inform and optimize social media content strategies

Technical Skills

  • Social Media Analytics Platforms: Expert proficiency in native analytics tools for major platforms (e.g., Meta Business Suite Insights, X Analytics, LinkedIn Page Analytics, TikTok Analytics, YouTube Analytics).
  • Social Media Management & Publishing Tools: Experience with platforms like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar for scheduling, publishing, and monitoring.
  • Social Listening Tools: Familiarity with tools for monitoring brand mentions, sentiment, and trending topics on social media (e.g., Brandwatch, Mention, Sprinklr).
  • Data Visualization: Ability to interpret and present social media data clearly and concisely, potentially using tools like Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or dashboard software.
  • Social Search Optimization (SSO): Strong understanding of hashtag best practices, keyword integration for social platforms, and how social algorithms impact discoverability.
  • Content Ideation Tools: Familiarity with tools that aid in content research and idea generation (e.g., BuzzSumo, AnswerThePublic).
  • Basic Design/Editing Software (desirable): Understanding of tools like Canva, CapCut, or basic functions of Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Pro to provide informed feedback on social media visuals and videos.
  • In-depth Platform Knowledge: Advanced understanding of the nuances, best practices, and technical specifications for content across key social media platforms (e.g., Instagram Reels vs. Stories, LinkedIn articles vs. posts, TikTok trends).

Soft Skills

  • Creativity and Visual Storytelling: Ability to translate ideas and messages into compelling visual narratives that resonate with target audiences.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and on-screen talent.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and find creative solutions under pressure, especially during live recordings.
  • Time Management and Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring high-quality video and audio in all productions.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies and techniques.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to lead the technical aspects of podcast productions and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Initiative and Proactiveness: Self-motivated and able to take initiative in developing creative ideas and improving workflows.
