Job Purpose
The candidate is expected to be involved in the testing and management part of the whole Software Development Life Cycle, namely Requirements Analysis and Gathering, Product Design Review, Software Development Review, Software Testing and Deployment. This includes managing day to day operations and resource management. The candidate is also expected to lead a group of test and senior test engineers in performing tasks and deliverables as assigned via projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee subordinates planning, development and execution of various testing strategies i.e functional web, performance, browser compatibility and provide solution as needed.
- Ability to lead/develop/mentor/coach group of testers assigned to projects.
- Interact with Director, Project Manager, Program Manager, Developers, and Architects to discuss and resolve defects.
- Strive towards automation opportunities through the usage or creation of new automation tools and systems.
- Ranking and Rating strategy for projects under test against other similar world-class products.
- Detailed root cause analysis of issues to the extent of identifying anomalies in the code, network and databases prior to raising the Problem Reports (PR).
- Rock solid testing strategies identified in advance (Ex: Functional, Performance, Usability, Benchmarking etc) related to the products being tested.
- Work with the project/application team to ensure test environment setup are in accordance to the test and customer requirements.
- Accountable for assigned project deliverables, including test reporting (test statistics, measurement, etc) to the reporting manager when required
- Continuous Risk Analysis assessment on the product under test based on test coverage, defects history and other parameters.
- Actively contribute to ISO17025 implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality management system.
- Responsible to identify occurrence of departures from QMS or procedures related to performing test activities and initiate actions to prevent or minimize them.
- Able to identify the right person within team to resolve the issues and ability to guide and supervise team members.
Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least an Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Electronic & Electrical Engineering field
Professional Qualification
Possess certification in software testing such as below is a definite advantage:
- Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL)
- Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE-FL)
- Certified Tester Advance Level (CTAL)
Work Experience
- More than 10 years’ experience in functional testing
- Experience with Web application testing
- Experience with Software Test; Process and Practices
- Experience in automation tools such as katalon etc.
Technical Skills
- Background and experience as a Developer and / or System Analyst will be a good asset.
- Experience in system functional testing is essential.
- Experience in other software testing areas such as Static and NonFunctional testing.
- Experience in software automation testing would be beneficial.
- Exposure to ISO 29119-4 Test Techniques is an added advantage.
Soft Skills
- Able to manage resources and work under pressure and to tight time scales with a demonstrable ability to multitask and deliver projects to tight deadlines.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Process knowledge in ISO 9000/17025 will be an added advantage
