Silterra Malaysia Sdn Bhd has entered into a collaboration with Malaysian Institute of Microelectronics System (MIMOS) to produce up to 24,000 wafers for several new customers this year.
Under a partnership to produce Power Management Integrated Circuit (Power-MOS) wafers, Silterra will provide the technology while MIMOS would provide its wafer fabrication facility, enabling both parties to monetise the capacity at MIMOS facility in Technology Park Malaysia.
Silterra’s factory in Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah has been running at full capacity for the last three years The plant has a design in capacity of 40,000 eight inch wafers per month and currently serves customers in the US Taiwan South Korea and China.
