Technical Engineer

Job Purpose

• The Technical Engineer plays a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying blockchain-based solutions that support MBISB’s innovation mandates. This role is responsible for delivering proof-of-concepts (POCs), building scalable smart contracts, integrating full-stack components, and supporting enterprise-grade blockchain implementations aligned with real-world industry applications. The engineer also contributes to early-stage innovation, industry engagements, and technology exploration to strengthen MBISB’s leadership in the national blockchain ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Blockchain Solution Design & Development

   Design and deliver blockchain-based proof-of-concepts involving digital asset creation, tokenization, decentralized applications (dApps), and smart contract development.

   Build secure, optimized, and scalable smart contracts (Solidity) aligned with real-world use cases such as real estate tokenization and Wakaf digitalization.

   Develop NFT, digital asset, and tokenization frameworks aligned to the MBI platform’s architecture.

2. Full Stack & Smart Contract Engineering

   Architect and implement backend applications using Python, integrated with Solidity smart contracts.

   Utilize Web3 frameworks (Web3.js / Ethers.js) for tokenization functionality, smart contract deployment, wallet connectivity, NFT creation, and blockchain interactions.

   Develop secure IPFS storage and metadata solutions for blockchain-based systems.

3. Systems Integration, Workflow Engineering & DevOps

   Integrate frontend, backend, and blockchain layers to deliver seamless user experiences, secure on-chain transactions, and smooth wallet interactions.

   Implement CI/CD pipelines for Dockerized applications to ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable deployment.

   Ensure system interoperability, performance optimization, and platform readiness for production environments.

4. Innovation, R&D & Emerging Technology Exploration

   Conduct technical feasibility studies on advanced blockchain applications, including security models, scalability approaches, contract optimization, and backend infrastructure.

   Explore opportunities within parametric agricultural insurance, decentralized finance (DeFi), identity-linked solutions, and other emerging domains.

   Provide insights and recommendations to support MBIS’s innovation pipeline.

5. Business Alignment & Use Case Realization

   Translate complex blockchain technologies into practical industry solutions that align with business needs and organizational objectives.

   Collaborate with internal stakeholders to shape product direction and ensure technical alignment with strategic priorities.

6. Industry Engagement & Technical Representation

   Develop technical demos, prototypes, and presentation materials to showcase MBIS’s capabilities.

   Represent MBIS at industry events, engaging stakeholders, partners, and ecosystem players.

   Support discussions with potential technology partners and collaborators.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• 5–7 years of experience in blockchain & digital tokenization related technology development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Solidity, Python, Web3.js/Ethers.js, and smart contract development.
• Knowledge of blockchain ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, containerization (Docker), and DevOps pipelines.
• Demonstrated experience in building tokenization systems, NFTs, or Web3 applications is an advantage.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture, security principles, and scalable backend systems.

Work Experience

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experiences in Information Technology, Manufacturing, and any other related fields.
• The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in blockchain solution design, smart contract development, and full-stack engineering, with a proven track record delivering proof-of-concepts involving tokenization, digital asset creation, dApps, and Web3 integrations.
• They should have strong backend development skills in Python, Solidity, and Web3 frameworks (Web3.js/Ethers.js), combined with experience integrating blockchain, frontend, and backend systems into seamless user workflows.
• The candidate should also have experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Dockerized deployments, conducting feasibility studies on emerging blockchain technologies, and translating complex technical concepts into practical use cases that align with business and industry needs.
• Experience presenting POCs to industry stakeholders, engaging in early-stage technology collaborations, and contributing to innovation initiatives in areas such as real estate tokenization, Wakaf digitalization, or parametric insurance is an added advantage.
