On 29 April 2025, MIMOS announced the operationalisation of the Malaysia Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI), a neutral and trusted platform poised to boost Malaysia’s digital economy significantly. Developed in strategic collaboration with MyEG, MBI aims to be a central catalyst for innovation, fostering an environment for developing cutting-edge blockchain applications across various sectors. This aligns MBI directly with the National Blockchain Roadmap and the Malaysian MADANI vision, setting the stage for a more robust and digitally advanced nation.
MBI is designed to streamline digital assets such as MyDigital ID verifiable credentials, NFTs, and DeFi applications, making blockchain more accessible to both technical and non-technical users. Early adopters like Masverse, Cokeeps, iTrace, and Heitech Padu are already leveraging MBI for solutions spanning supply chain traceability, digital identity, asset custody, and tokenisation. As MIMOS Acting President and Group CEO, Dr Saat Shukri Embong, highlighted, MBI will drive Malaysia’s competitiveness as a regional leader in blockchain, attracting investment and talent, and promoting digital inclusivity by unifying the nation’s fragmented blockchain ecosystem through seamless integration with various public and private chains.
