MIMOS Technology Preview 2026 Opens New Pathways from Deep Tech to Commercial Value

MIMOS Berhad hosted the flagship MIMOS Technology Preview (MTP) 2026 on 29 September 2026 at its campus in Bukit Jalil, welcoming investors, financial institutions, corporate leaders, and government-linked companies. Centred on the theme ‘Technology Beyond Boundaries: Advancing Malaysia’s Technology Frontier,’ the event aimed to transition advanced Malaysian research out of laboratories and directly into industrial adoption and international markets.

The event was officiated by YB Dato’ Dr. Haji Mohammad Yusof Bin Apdal, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), who emphasised that Malaysia must build the domestic capability and ambition required to shape the global tech ecosystem rather than merely adopting external advancements. In their officiating address, the Deputy Minister highlighted that achieving technological impact demands strong cross-sector collaboration between government agencies, private capital, and research entities to scale homegrown innovations both locally and globally.

Moving beyond traditional static exhibitions, MTP 2026 offered attendees an immersive walk-through of the MIMOS innovation ecosystem, demonstrating how proprietary technologies are conceived, validated, and prepared for commercial deployment. Interactive live demonstrations highlighted core national focus areas, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, smart manufacturing systems, advanced semiconductors, and quantum technologies. Presentations by MIMOS subsidiaries and technology ventures further outlined structured investment pathways and market opportunities for prospective commercial partners.

MTP 2026 reinforced MIMOS’ position as the primary connector along Malaysia’s innovation value chain. By linking research outcomes with strategic investment and industry expertise, the organisation demonstrated its commitment to accelerating technology adoption, enhancing national economic resilience, and establishing Malaysia as a formidable developer of deep-tech solutions.
