MIMOS Propels Malaysian Deep-Tech onto the Global Stage with Landmark Initiatives

MIMOS International Venture Sdn. Bhd. (MIVSB), the commercialisation arm of MIMOS Berhad, officially launched its Go-To-Market (GTM) initiative on 30 April 2026. This strategic move transitions the agency from applied research into high-gear execution, aimed at fast-tracking and scaling Malaysian-developed innovations across international markets.

With a focus on revenue generation from 2026 onwards, the initiative establishes structured commercial pathways, pilot deployments, and high-impact alliances across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Key milestone partnerships include an agreement with Uzbekistan’s Syrdarya Region to build a sustainable green-tech and digital hub, as well as collaboration agreements spanning medical technology, decarbonisation, and geospatial intelligence with various industry leaders.

Further strengthening this regional tech ecosystem, MIVSB formalised a monumental cross-border partnership with Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) on 5 May 2026. This strategic alliance blends UBD’s robust research pipeline and academic talent in artificial intelligence and deep-tech with MIVSB’s expertise in venture building and market access.

The partnership, in systematically transforming intellectual property and startups into market-ready solutions, establishes a connected, resilient innovation gateway designed to seamlessly scale ideas out of Brunei and Malaysia into the wider ASEAN markets. Together, these dual milestones solidify Malaysia’s standing as a competitive global solutions provider and a dominant force in driving regional, technology-driven growth.
