KUALA LUMPUR: REDtone International Bhd unit REDtone Telecommunications Sdn Bhd and Mimos Bhd have signed an accord that will see REDtone becoming a Mimos technology recipient, with usage rights for the latter’s WiWi and intelligence surveillance platform (ISP) technologies for three years.

KUALA LUMPUR: REDtone International Bhd plans to have 20,000 WiFi hotspots by 2014 given the rising demand for WiFi services, said its group managing director Datuk Wei Chuan Beng.

REDTONE International Bhd plans to invest up to RM90 million over the next three years to expand its WiFi coverage to 20,000 hotspots, from under 4,500 currently.

REDTONE International Bhd menyasarkan mewujudkan sehingga 20,000 hotspot WiFi di seluruh negara dalam tempoh tiga tahun daripada hanya 4,500 yang bakal dimilikinya menjelang akhir tahun ini.
