MIMOS Shaping the Future of TVET in Semiconductor

In an event marked by collaboration and innovation, MIMOS was proud to participate in the TVET Place & Train UteM on 16 January 2024, held at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

This significant occasion was further highlighted by the presence and completion of the launching ceremony by the Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. MIMOS took this opportunity to share our invaluable knowledge and experience in nurturing our young workforce, specifically in the specialised fields of wafer fabrication and failure analysis.

This sharing aimed to inspire and educate attendees on the importance of hands-on training and skill development in these high-tech industries.

The event also saw the attendance of notable figures such as YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education, the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Utama Ab. Rauf Yusoh, and YBhg. Professor Dato’ Dr. Mazlan bin Abd Ghaffar, Vice Chancellor of UMT. Their presence underscored the government’s commitment to enhancing technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Malaysia.

The TVET Place & Train UTeM@KPT programme, hosted in the esteemed UTeM, Melaka, represents a strategic move to align education with industry needs, ensuring that graduates are not only employable but also possess the critical skills required by the industry, particularly in the cutting-edge domain of semiconductor manufacturing.
