From June to August 2026, MIMOS executed a high-impact calendar of technical training, strategic workshops, and capability-building programmes designed to elevate Malaysia’s technology workforce. The MIMOS Academy spearheaded national talent development in advanced manufacturing by conducting Level 4 Train-the-Trainer wafer fabrication courses alongside Jabatan Tenaga Manusia (JMTI) between 9 and 25 June 2026, followed by the two-week MITRA Semiconductor Training Programme concluding on 17 July 2026. MIMOS also extended its technical expertise regionally, welcoming DENSO Philippines Corporation on 30 June 2026 for intensive failure analysis instruction, and debuting its state-of-the-art Spectra 300 S/TEM system on 11 August 2026 to enable atomic-scale characterisation for national research.
In tandem with high-tech manufacturing, MIMOS actively accelerated digital transformation across key public institutions and defence sectors. On 18 June 2026, MIMOS partnered with the Ministry of Health to lead a system requirements workshop for migrating the MyHDW platform to cloud infrastructure. Educational outreach to government bodies expanded on 25 June 2026 when MIMOS equipped Kementerian Digital officers with NotebookLM AI tools to streamline workplace efficiency, followed by a three-day proof-of-concept (POC) session from 14 to 16 July 2026 with the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) focused on custom AI software development tools.
Beyond the public sector, MIMOS delivered practical business tools to local enterprises, startups, and corporate leaders. Highlights included the ‘Bullet-proofing Your Tech Business’ workshop on 23 and 24 June 2026 led by former board member E.T. Tan, the Usrah Membangun Usahawan MADANI event on 21 July 2026 exploring blockchain and AI, and a dedicated National Training Week session on 24 July 2026. Corporate upskilling reached energy sector leaders on 5 and 6 August 2026, when MIMOS Academy trained UZMA Berhad personnel in AI system thinking to enhance workplace problem-solving.
Underpinning these external initiatives was a continuous drive toward internal operational excellence and governance. Throughout June and July 2026, MIMOSians upskilled via hands-on AI Practitioner sessions covering generative video, image editing, and LLM-driven data analytics. The agency further fortified its organisational standards through advanced MS ISO 56001:2024 Innovation Management System courses on 12 and 13 August 2026, Blue Ocean strategic value innovation workshops on 13 August 2026, and a specialised Corporate Governance training session for technology decision-makers on 19 August 2026.
