In the third quarter of 2026, MIMOS established itself as a vibrant hub for technology transfer, institutional alignment, and talent cultivation. Opening the period on 9 June 2026, MIMOS engaged with PETRONAS on intellectual property management and digital solutions while welcoming computer science students from UiTM Tapah. Strategic diplomacy quickly expanded on 11 June 2026 with back-to-back delegation visits from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Royal Malaysian Navy. International momentum accelerated throughout the summer, highlighted by visits from the Chongqing Science & Technology Bureau on 24 June 2026, the Italy-Malaysia Business Mission on 30 June 2026, Project ASTRA Denmark on 1 July 2026, French quantum computing firm Quobly on 7 July 2026, Hong Kong’s ASTRI on 12 August 2026, and a Macao delegation on 4 September 2026.
Simultaneously, MIMOS strengthened its connections with local industry, financial institutions, and public administration. High-level discussions were held with M Kapital Consultancy and Yayasan Peneraju on 23 June 2026, followed by the Global Electronics Association on 24 June 2026 to discuss IPC certification curricula. Engagement with corporate leaders continued on 23 July 2026 with a visit from Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX) executives, as well as meetings with the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers on 7 August 2026 and Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad on 24 August 2026. Public sector synergy was further pursued on 6 August 2026 through strategic talks with the Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara (INTAN) to modernise civil service operations using digital tools.
A cornerstone of this period was a deep commitment to nurturing Malaysia’s future STEM workforce through educational outreach. Hands-on design workshops and facility tours were hosted for UniMAP on 18 June 2026 and UiTM Shah Alam on 2 July 2026. MIMOS welcomed TVET delegates on 1 July 2026 alongside engineering students from Politeknik Ungku Omar, UCSI, Politeknik Muadzam Shah, and secondary students from MRSM Serting on 5 August 2026. Demonstrating its commitment to youth, MIMOS hosted an inspiring discussion with Allied Pillar on 22 July 2026 featuring a 14-year-old innovator.
Human capital development reached a peak in mid-August. On 18 August 2026, MIMOS hosted thirty postgraduate finalists for the national final round of the Malaysian Nanotechnology Olympiad (ONM) 2026, organised by MOSTI’s National Nanotechnology Centre under the theme ‘Nano Meets Bio’. On the same day, MIMOS Academy welcomed twenty young participants for the launch of the K-Youth Semiconductor Talent Development Programme on behalf of Khazanah Nasional. By opening its laboratories and exposing visitors to advanced research in AI, semiconductors, and failure analysis, MIMOS continued to build strong pathways for sustainable technology leadership.
