Strengthening Digital Trust Through AI Resilience and Deepfake Detection

From 26 to 28 August 2026, MIMOS Berhad actively participated in the National Innovation and Creative Economy (NICE) 2026 exhibition, serving as a focal point for meaningful dialogue and showcasing Malaysia’s advancing technological capabilities. Throughout the three-day event, MIMOS demonstrated its dedication to bridging the gap between research and development and real-world commercialisation, engaging directly with industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts.

The event commenced on 26 August 2026 with MIMOS presenting a suite of homegrown innovations and hosting the MIMOS Series Conference. This platform facilitated high-level thought leadership sessions and discussions on the future of innovation in Malaysia. Momentum heightened on 27 August 2026 when Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially launched NICE 2026, accompanied by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), YB Datuk Chang Lih Kang. Both dignitaries toured the MIMOS exhibition booth to observe the organisation’s current technological initiatives first-hand during a day filled with MoU/MoA exchanges, pitching sessions, and ministerial dialogues.

The final day, 28 August 2026, highlighted the collaborative spirit of the event with a visit from MOSTI Deputy Minister YB Dato’ Dr. Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal. A key moment of the day was a recorded episode of the Bual Sains podcast featuring the Deputy Minister alongside MIMOS President and Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Saat Shukri Embong. Their discussion centred on the strategic journey towards commercialising local R&D, attracting investment, and fostering domestic technology champions to build long-term economic resilience.

At the core of MIMOS’ exhibition was a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, particularly its ongoing research into deepfake detection and trusted technology frameworks. As AI-generated content grows in complexity, MIMOS remains focused on building robust solutions that preserve digital security, integrity, and public trust. Engaging government agencies, academic institutions, and commercial partners at NICE 2026 reinforced MIMOS’ role in driving responsible AI adoption and protecting Malaysia’s evolving digital ecosystem.
