Young minds. Bold ideas. A proud Malaysian spirit. These came together as MIMOS Junior Academy (MJA) celebrated Hari Kebangsaan and Malaysia Day 2026 under the theme ‘Children of Independence: Creators of Malaysia’s Future’ on 10 September 2026 at MIMOS Berhad.
Bringing together students, educators, parents and MIMOS senior management, the celebration was filled with creativity, energy and expressions of national pride. Every student took part in one of two themed competitions, the Merdeka Future City Challenge or the Merdeka Fashion Show – Malaysia Future Icons.
Through the Future City Challenge, students imagined and developed their visions for Malaysia’s future, while the fashion show allowed them to bring their creativity to life through patriotic and imaginative interpretations of future Malaysian icons. The celebration came alive with a series of engaging student performances, including the patriotic songs Saya Anak Malaysia, Malaysian Boy, and Kuasa Juara, a meaningful sign language presentation of Warisan, and the inspiring poetry recital Malaysiaku di Masa Hadapan, reflecting the students’ love for the nation, appreciation of its heritage and hopes for its future.
More than a celebration of Merdeka and Malaysia Day, the programme provided a meaningful platform for students to express, imagine and create while developing confidence, creativity and future-oriented thinking. As the Children of Independence, these young minds represent a generation with the potential to shape Malaysia’s next chapter through innovation, creativity and courage. Through these initiatives, MJA continues to nurture young talents who are ready to dream bigger, create boldly and contribute to a future-ready Malaysia.
