As part of the ongoing National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations, MIMOSians gathered for a vibrant Batik Painting Workshop to honour the nation’s rich artistic traditions. Organised to bring cultural heritage into the workplace, the interactive session offered employees an immersive, hands-on opportunity to engage with one of Malaysia’s most celebrated traditional crafts.
Participants stepped away from their daily technical responsibilities to explore the intricate art of wax-resist dyeing. Guided by the principles of traditional batik making, staff members experimented with bold colour palettes and classic motifs, transforming blank fabric panels into personalised pieces of art that reflected both individual creativity and collective national pride.
Beyond the artistic techniques, the workshop served as an ideal platform for fostering cross-departmental camaraderie and relaxation. The informal setting encouraged colleagues from diverse divisions to connect, share ideas, and celebrate their shared Malaysian identity in a relaxed, collaborative environment filled with team spirit.
By embedding traditional arts into its Merdeka Month calendar, MIMOS demonstrated that national celebration thrives on shared cultural experiences. The workshop successfully united staff through creativity, leaving participants with a deeper appreciation for local craftsmanship and a refreshed sense of unity across the organisation.
