Assistant Manager, People Insight & Compliance

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager is responsible for assist in driving human capital strategies, HRMS initiatives, workforce analytics, compliance, and governance programs to support organizational objectives, enhance data-driven decision-making, ensure regulatory compliance. and promote continuous improvement in human capital management. governance excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of human capital strategies that align workforce capabilities with organizational goals, while embedding principles of anti-bribery, innovation, and information security, to drive a high-performance, ethical, and future-ready culture.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking on HR and compliance trends (including ABMS, Innovation Management System, ISMS) to ensure the organization remains ahead of regulatory requirements and industry best practices, strengthening business competitiveness and reputation.
  • Analyse and interpret HR and workforce data to generate actionable insights that not only inform management decisions, but also enable proactive risk management and continuous improvement in line with organizational integrity and innovation goals.
  • Coordinate and support the administration of the full cycle of industrial relations processes—including grievance management, disciplinary actions, dispute resolution, and collective bargaining, to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and a harmonious work environment.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive HR reports, dashboards, and compliance analytics to ensure transparent, data-driven management oversight and maintain audit-readiness.
  • Assist in developing and updating HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that ethical conduct, innovation, and information security are woven into the fabric of everyday business, supporting sustained growth and compliance.
  • Facilitate and support internal and external audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews covering HR, ABMS, Innovation Management, and ISMS to proactively identify improvement opportunities and reinforce the organization’s credibility with regulators, clients, and partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion integrated approaches to HR, compliance, and innovation projects, ensuring organization-wide alignment and consistent adoption of best practices.
  • Identify and recommend strategic process improvements and compliance enhancements that drive operational excellence, enable sustainable growth, and reinforce a culture of integrity and innovation.

Qualification

  • Possess Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Information Systems, or any other related academic background.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HR strategy, analytics, compliance, HRMS administration, or industrial relations.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law, Industrial Relations Act, collective agreements, dispute resolution, HR best practices, ABMS, Innovation Management, ISMS, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficient in HR and IR analytics and reporting tools (e.g., HRMS, Excel, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information, exercise sound judgment, and uphold the highest standards of integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Technical Skills

  • HR data analysis and reporting (including use of Excel, Power BI, or other analytics tools)
  • HRMS administration and data management
  • Knowledge of Malaysian employment law, Industrial Relations Act, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with ABMS, Innovation Management System, and ISMS requirements.
  • Policy and procedure development (HR, IR, compliance).
  • Handling industrial relations matters (grievance, disciplinary, dispute resolution).
